United, we can make this dream a reality

Atlanta teens learn from the pros at Game On! clinic led by NBA Referee Billy Kennedy, retired NFL Referee Mark Baltz and retired Major League Baseball Umpires

Atlanta teens got a chance to learn about sports officiating from the pros at a Game On! clinic at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School on July 28.

Sports Officials Care President and longtime NBA Referee Billy Kennedy helped lead the drills along with retired NFL Head Linesman Mark Baltz, Big Ten football referee Nick Brigati, Texas High School and College Football and Basketball Referee Robert Abney, UMPS CARE President and retired Major League Baseball Umpire Gary Darling and MLB Umpire Supervisors Larry Young and Jim Reynolds. We also were honored to have retired MLB Umpire Ted Barrett on hand. He was in Atlanta as part of the NASO Summit where he will be honored with the prestigious Gold Whistle Award.

The students not only learned about ways to call games but life lessons from those who have made it to the top of their game.
