Sports Officials Care takes time out to support Feed My Starving Children food bank in Arizona
More than 40 sports officials took time out to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children – a non-profit organization that distributes meals in schools, orphanages, clinics and feeding programs around the world to deliver hope and break the cycle of poverty.
Joining Sports Officials Care President Billy Kennedy and Vice President Scott Twardoski – both NBA Referees – were sports officials from the professional and collegiate ranks. Longtime Major League Baseball Umpire Jim Reynolds, now an MLB Umpire Supervisor, also participated in the event.
“Many middle school and high school students, along with several Arizona State students from the intramural sports program joined us for our Feed My Starving Children event,” Twardoski said. “They were excited to give back and left inspired after meeting professional and collegiate officials. It was a great example of the officiating community coming together and helping the community at large.”
Together, the group packed 265 boxes with 57,240 meals!
